The American Heritage Association (the AHA) is the parents’ association at American Heritage of South Jordan. This organization was founded to serve the students, teachers, parents, and administrators at our school. Our school is very unique in philosophy and curriculum. We declare and expect that every student take responsibility for his or her own education. It would follow, logically, that we, as parents, would take responsibility to support them in positive and meaningful ways so they can discover and develop their gifts and abilities. In order to ensure the success of our children, all parents must become active in the interests of our school. The intention of the AHA is to see our school not only succeed, but flourish, creating a legacy that will continue for generations.
As with all parents’ associations, we require funding to complete our objectives. In the past, we have participated in various fund raising activities such as, selling candy, wrapping paper, candles, cookie dough, pizza, hosting yard sales and dinner events, etc…. These fund raising activities were successful in generating funds, but were time and labor intensive. As a result, our parents voted to adopt a “no fuss fundraiser” and do away with traditional fund raising activities. This type of fundraiser eliminates the usual headaches of selling to your neighbors, family and friends….. We ask each family to simply donate $100 to the AHA in October and May. This money will be used to create a small field trip fund for each classroom, sponsor academic competitions, create additional emergency kits for the students and classrooms, birthday acknowledgments, help with curriculum, support for special school events, etc…
We invite and highly encourage the participation of every single parent in the AHA and know you, your students and our school will experience great rewards from your service.
